“Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:40 (NIV)
Have you ever looked up and realized you’ve been tolerating something for far too long?
Maybe it started small—a skipped morning routine, a messy calendar, or the quiet belief that asking for help makes you weak. But over time, those tolerations start to cost you.
They cost your peace.
They cost your presence.
And they cost your alignment.
I used to think powering through was a strength. If I could just keep going, I must be doing okay… right?
But what I was actually doing was tolerating things that weren’t aligned with who I was or what I valued.
Here’s a small example that made a big impact:
Whenever I hosted a gathering, I never asked anyone to bring food. I believed a “good hostess” should handle it all herself. I didn’t want to burden anyone.
But then I noticed—when my friends asked me to bring something to their gatherings, I didn’t feel burdened. I felt included. I felt helpful.
That realization was a wake-up call.
I wasn’t just trying to be generous—I was stuck in perfectionism and pride, holding myself to a standard I never applied to others.
It was misalignment.
When we tolerate misaligned expectations, we quietly sacrifice the things that matter most:
⏰ Our time
😌 Our energy
❤️ Our joy
And we wonder why we feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or resentful.
This week on the A Cup of Hope podcast, I’m kicking off a gentle reset with the ALIGN Framework—a step-by-step approach to help you move from chaos to clarity.
